Frequently Asked Questions
GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated by dividing total grade points by total credit hours. For each course, multiply credit hours by grade points (A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, D=1.0, F=0). Sum all values and divide by total credit hours.
Formula: GPA = Total Grade Points ÷ Total Credit Hours
Read our detailed guide: How to Calculate GPA.
Weighted course grades are calculated in three steps:
- Calculate the average score for each category (Homework, Quizzes, Exams).
- Multiply each category average by its weight percentage.
- Add the weighted scores for the final grade.
Example: 85% Homework (30%) + 78% Quizzes (20%) + 90% Exams (50%) = 25.5 + 15.6 + 45 = 86.1%
GradePoint Pro supports multiple grading scales. See our full GPA Scale chart:
- Standard: A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, D=1.0, F=0.0
- Plus/Minus: A+=4.3, A=4.0, A-=3.7, B+=3.3, etc.
- Percentage: Convert percentage grades to GPA
- Custom: Define your own grade values
